TRANSPONDER KEYS
Transponder Keys or “Chip Keys” started becoming popular around the late 90s and early 2000s. Nowadays almost every key is equipped with a transponder chip that must be programmed to the car’s immobilizer in order for the car to start. LASER CUT KEYS
“Laser Cut Keys” is a term referred to milled keys such as Honda side-milled Keys or 2013+ GM groove cut keys with a milling down the middle. These keys are often referred to as “sidewinder” or “high security” keys as well. Laser cut keys came around as an added measure of security and are a big difference to the standard edge-cut keys.
